The jewel of the municipality of Limni is the picturesque town
Limni, with its great architecture and cobble stone paths. You
will find many Byzantine and Post Byzantine monuments scattered
all over Limni, such as the Agios Hristodoulos from Patmos, the
temple of Zodohou Pigis, and many others. There are also small
Neolithic habitats at places such as Agios Georgios, Agios Athanasios,
Agia Kiriaki and on the hill of Kastria.
On the coast of Limni you will find many traditional tavernas,
offering finger food
(mezes) with ouzo, all with a very beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.
The cakes and sweets made in the local patisseries are famous
for their delicious tastes. These include such specialities such
as ice cream and the galaktompoureko (pastry with cream and syrup
).
The Nautical Club of Limni often organizes sailing tournaments
and if you like, you can take some short lessons on sailing during
your holidays.
The cultural events “Elymnia” that take place during the summer
and where one can enjoy theater plays, nights of Greek, Classic,
folklore, and modern music, film shows, athletic events and other
activities, are extremely interesting, During the summer, the

"Camping Rovies" cooperates with a very interesting
and active man, Kostas Sarmas, who has created an original diving
center at Agios Georgios of Lihada. Lessons are organized to visit
multicolored sea bed, and well preserved ship wrecks at a depth
of 18 meters. The experienced divers can swim to magical deserted
islands, where the famous seals "Monachus – Monachus"
can be seen, or just swim next to the coral and colourful living
sea organisms.

coast, and the Sporades Islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and also
Alonnisos, where the Mediterranean seal "Monachous – Monachous"
lives, protected under special laws, at a sea park.
The sea park was founded in 1996 and is the first sea park in
Greece. Today it is an important ecosystem, with many living species,

It is rather difficult to explain and share with you on these
pages, all the choices and experiences that visitors to Evia can
have and enjoy. We are just trying to briefly introduce you to
the many choices that are available. Maybe in the future we will
be able to make a more detailed and thorough presentation on our
site. For those who may want further information, we suggest the
books written by the author Alekos Kalemis, especially his book
“Apocalypse of Evia” (in Greek).
If you have friends that are not keen on camping, we can assist
with organizing accommodation for them at different tourist facilities,
with which we cooperate. Rovies offers many accommodation facilities,
rooms, bungalows and apartments, such as www.sungatebeach.gr
